The NYS Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program accepts applications on an open-round rolling basis for economic development projects in your town. If you have a new or existing business in need of additional capital and that plans on creating jobs as part of a project, we want to talk to you! CDBG-eligible costs include, but are not limited to:
-
Machinery and Equipment (M&E)
-
Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E)
-
Inventory
-
Working Capital
CDBG can assist with up to $15,000 per job created for larger businesses, not to exceed $750,000, and $25,000 per job for smaller businesses (those under 25 employees) not to exceed $100,000. Assistance in either category cannot exceed 40% of the total project cost. Note that all other project financing must be identified at the time of application, and that the NYS CDBG program contracts only with units of local government, (City, Town, Village, County) not directly with the business. In addition, the unit of local government must hold one public hearing prior to submission of the application.
If you think there is a business in The Town of Maryland that could benefit from CDBG contact the Town of Maryland Supervisor
Ron Wheeler at 638.1924. A representative from the Town applicant must be part of that conversation.
